PYJO is designed to help your jazz program. The focus is on building skills in improvisation, knowledge of theory, and developing jazz feels. We want your students to be strong leaders and to help your younger or less experienced students. PYJO has chosen not to compete, but you might see us in exhibition at festivals. Mainly, we perform in public venues. Students are always encouraged to attend school band functions before PYJO. We often hire professional musicians as subs. We ask the students to communicate conflicts with enough time that we can do so.
